Optional Accessories
Your metal building representative will work with you to select the appropriate accessories. A variety of overhead doors, steel entry doors, and insulation packages are available to ensure a comfortable and efficient work environment. Other options include glass storefront doors, insulated steel panels, and a variety of ventilation options such as ridge vents and cupolas.
Any of these accessories can be included with the delivery of your metal building; or the building could be designed with future accessories taken into account, saving you time and money with later retro fits.
Insulation Savings
Fiberglass blanket insulation is one accessory that offers tremendous value. It is both inexpensive and simple to install, is available with either a white or black plastic facing, and will save you hundreds to thousands of dollars throughout the long life of your metal building.
There are a variety of thicknesses and configurations to choose from, but 4” R-13 is the popular standard. Insulating the roof and walls of your 60’ x 60 building with 4” R-13 would cost about $4,450.00 before delivery. This includes the tape you would need for installation and your blankets would be specially cut for your building’s dimensions.
If you are interested in higher thermal values, a second layer of insulation can be placed between the z-shaped steel members in the roof of your building by using steel banding. The banded R-30 system, for example, uses a 3.5” layer and a 6” layer of blanket insulation. For an additional $3,340.00 you could upgrade the roof of your 4” R-13 package to R-30!
